On The Run — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 June 2026

On The Run ("the App") is a multiplayer game in which two teams — Runners and Chasers — play a real-world game of hide-and-seek. This policy explains what information the App handles, why, and who it is shared with. We have tried to keep it short and honest.

The short version: On The Run has no servers of our own, no accounts, no advertising, and no analytics or tracking SDKs. The data you create during a game is stored on your device and synced between the players in your game through Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) using your own iCloud account. We never receive, sell, or rent your data.

Who is responsible

The App is developed by the individual developer of On The Run ("we", "us"). For any privacy question or request, contact: on_the_run2026@outlook.com.

What information the App handles

DataWhy it is usedWho can see it
Precise location (GPS) To monitor the play-area boundary and warn you when you are about to leave it, to capture the location shared at a checkpoint, and to record your route during a match so both teams can watch the replay afterwards. Location is used only while you are in a game. The other players in your game (checkpoint locations and the end-of-game route reveal). Your live position is not shared during play.
Photos you take in the App Checkpoint photos and the finish photo are part of gameplay — they are the clues and the proof shared with the other team. The other players in your game.
Display name you enter To identify you to teammates and opponents in the lobby and game. The other players in your game.
A random player ID A random identifier created on your device the first time you play, used to tell players apart within a game. It is not your name, email, phone number, or a device/advertising identifier, and it cannot be used to identify you outside the App. The other players in your game.

The App also uses the camera (to take in-game photos) and the photo library on the Simulator only, as a fallback when no camera is available. Permissions are requested at the moment a feature needs them, and you can change them any time in Settings → On The Run.

Children

On The Run is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App involves moving around real-world locations and is intended to be played with adult supervision where appropriate.

Support

Need help, found a bug, or have a question about On The Run? Email on_the_run2026@outlook.com and we'll get back to you. There are no accounts to recover and no purchases to manage — the game is free and stores its data in your own iCloud account.

Quick tips: the game needs Location and Camera access to play, which you can manage in Settings → On The Run. Playing with friends uses iCloud to sync — make sure every player is signed into iCloud and connected to the internet, then join with the host's link or 6-digit code.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, note the change in the App. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
